Collision repair allentown pa

Buy now or wait

2023.03.25 01:23 PhillyDillyFoles Buy now or wait

In need of some advice. 26 years old. Single, male, no degree, no debt. Credit around 790. Have roughly $32,000 in my bank account. Can net around $2800 a month in income (probably around $55,000 yearly gross). Wanted to know if I could afford a house rn. I live pretty much dead center between Philly and Allentown (PA). One of my dilemmas is that I may change careers completely by the end of the year. I’m cold calling (sales) and don’t like it very much. Looking to try to get into an Ibew. Have applied recently and waiting on some good news back. If hypothetically speaking I do make a career shift my income would be lower the first couple of years. So I guess my question is do I wait on buying a home until I get my future career aspirations in order, keep renting for now, and maybe get lucky with mortgage rate declines in the future. Or do I take the risk and buy a home now, hopefully no more than 250,000 on a FHA loan with 3.5% down, and see what happens down the line with my potential career change. I know that was probably a lot to digest. Thanks, any advice is appreciated.

2023.03.24 19:13 conestogan ICCU failure at 19.8k mi

My integrated charge control unit had a catastrophic failure yesterday afternoon coming back from NY suburbs in rush hour. This a week after the car was returned to me after a $15,000 collision repair (state trooper backed into me on shoulder).
Estimated repair duration - two weeks. I’m covered with a rental car and the part is part of the warranty.
I have just under 20,000 mi on this I5 Limited purchased in Feb 2022. Redditors might understand my concerns about the vehicle after all this.
Thoughts?

2023.03.24 17:21 Ok_File9295 PA advice please

Looking so some advice here - I haven’t been able to find any information about my situation through my research so any advice is appreciated!
Background: we rent in PA. We have a 2 bathroom house. Since November 2022 we have not had a functioning shower in our master bath. There’s been issues with the tile on the floor and leaking through to the first floor and into our closet which is behind the shower. Overall it doesn’t seem the shower was done properly at all when originally installed. Landlords were made aware of the issue and the first “fix” wasn’t completed until Jan 4. This was after 3/4 quotes from diff contractors.
Attempts were made to re-grout the floor tile and reseal. This lasted about 2 weeks - made them aware of leaks again around Feb 20th. Within the past 3 weeks 2 contractors have come to give more quotes on completely redoing the shower.
Overall - this has seemed to be very drawn out. Yes we do have another shower in our guest bath - but we are paying a decent amount of rent. Do we have any rights here to ask for reduced rent or anything? The only part in our lease regarding repairs just generally states to make landlords aware and repairs will be assessed in a timely manor

2023.03.24 16:55 SnooPandas6295 Diminished value

Got hit in the parking lot and other driver was at fault. My 2022 330i XDrive was hit right in the nose. The damages ended up being estimated around $8500 (front bumper, hood, radiator, collision bar repaireplacement). It is currently being repaired now and they got a rental car for me (that I’m stuck in for half a month). Do I have a case for Diminished value? Anyone have any experience with this they are willing to share?

2023.03.24 16:48 mooseisloose12 What to do about repairs from accident that was not our fault

We were in a minor accident in which the other driver was found to be 100% at fault. Their insurance has been taking care of everything from the medical bills to the repair of my truck. One issue is that my front bumper is not able to be repaired to the condition it was in before the accident and the bumper is not manufactured anymore. The collision center couldn't find a good bumper from their approved vendors and they basically deducted the cost of the bumper (not including labor) from the final bill. I will be discussing this with the adjuster but I'm not sure how this is usually handled. I can find aftermarket bumpers on places like eBay but I'm not sure how comparable they are. When I go to sell this truck eventually, it won't be in it's original condition before the accident. Does anyone have any insight?

2023.03.24 15:50 dbernard456 Captain of Industry + Ixion + Oxigen not Included

Would be really nice if COI was on a huge spaceship where you build living space, industries and pipes everywhere.
Here some of my ideas
You would travel through space, harvesting asteroids for ice and minerals. Send expeditions on planets to get fossil fuels and other raw materials you cant find in space.
You would have to options to vent liquids/solids/gaz into space but doing so would deprive you of precious ressources that could be recycled. If you vent all your the carbon dioxyde into space you might lack oxygen to breath.
You would have to maintain a breathable atmosphere under acceptable pressure and appropriate heat in the ship for people to survive.
You would have to deal with hull damage and repair it before losing all your atmosphere.
You would be able to dump that scrap or ore somewhere on the floor until you can process it, with trucks moving about.
You could eventually build external storage tanks to store ressources outside the ship. The avantage is that the have huge capacity but they are vulnerable to leaks created by collisions from space rocks. If not careful all that precious water or grain will end up vented in the space.
Outside you could also build shielding to protect the ship, heatsink to get rid of waste heat, solar panels to get some energy from space, batteries to store energy.
At the begining of the game you would start in a small section of the ship and would progressively open new sections after pressurinzing them.
Also at the beginning you would start with heaps of scrap on the ship floor you could use to bootstrap the colony.
You would travel to new systems when you thought the ressources you needed were exhausted. For this you need to power up the hyperdrives with a lot of energy oand hyperdrive fuel.
Normal drive would you hydrogen at the beginng but reasearch could allow you better propulsion.
You also be able to send smaller ships to do research, mining etc.
Maybe systems could be proceduraly generated so the gameplay could last forever. (I like sandboxes and building self-sustenable colonies)
Thanks for reading and would love your comments.

White car at 3.45 if you know the make of the car please share I need to know thank you!
I know car people on this thread saying the white car seen at 3.45 at food mart Exxon gas station was not a Hyundai Elantra. I really don't know myself but will say it looks similar. LE tell us the Hyundai Elantra was spotted at Indian Hills Dr at 3.26AM and then at Styner Avenue at 3.28AM then Multiple times in the area on the 4th passing going into King Rd at 4.04AM. LE have never commented on the car at 3.45 does anyone think it's the car in question that night or just a coincidence it seems very close to the places the Hyundai was spotted in the area. Any thoughts on this. Car people be nice! 😅

2023.03.24 13:31 Writteninsanity SIX ORBITS - Chapter 16, Adrift

I pulled myself back through the open grate in the armoury's floor and tossed my hardlight adjuster onto the work table, swearing as I did. The water I'd grabbed earlier was still sitting on the floor beside the central leg of the table, untouched.
Victoria had been sitting in the cockpit, but she got up as she heard me climb back out of the engine housing. There was only space for one of us down there, and even though she'd explained she knew a lot about ships, she wasn't exactly going to be able to repair a human one. "Still bad?"
"It's fucked. We're-" I sighed instead of swearing again.
"Do we?"
"I'll give it one more shot before we need to make new plans."
"So we can't get to Ovigaia then?"
"Don't write it off yet, but-" I trailed off instead of saying 'yeah.' The laser fire we'd taken had pierced the hull, and while the prognosis could have been worse, there wasn't far for it to go. The shot had damaged the right-side power cells of the ship. Even if I managed to fix them so they stopped losing power on every circuit run, we'd already bled enough storage that we had essentially half as much auxiliary power as I'd planned for the trip to Ovigaia.
Unless I could restore peak efficiency and was wrong about how much power we'd lost in the past hours, we would need to land somewhere else. Not to mention, we'd pierced the veil at the wrong angle after getting hit, meaning the journey already would have been overlong with a fully functional ship.
"Do you want me to take a look at some of the options we might have?"
"Hard to tell what's in range until I have a read on the power, but sure. Thanks," Victoria nodded as she stepped back to the cockpit, sliding into the co-pilot's seat and bringing up the console.
At least she was making herself useful, better than she'd been on Mythellion III when I'd first met her. Maybe she was warming up to me or maybe just warming up to the idea of someone who was keeping her alive.
Mom had always said that getting shot at was great for developing character.
I took a sip of the water and watched as she started working on the console, slow and methodical but making progress. She hadn't asked for help, but I imagined everything that seemed intuitive for humans was like a foreign language of UI for her. Most tech used agreed on universal standards if they wanted to reach the mass market; human military surplus was optimized for our neural networking.
She swore, and I almost spoke up, but every minute I spent jabbing her ego instead of working on the batteries could be light years off our expected distance.
I dropped back into the floor and was met with the telltale thrum of the perpetual engine funnelling power to the rest of the ship. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the hyper-blue light.
Across from me, at the end of the first maintenance way, I could see the shield of the ship making a translucent lattice between myself and the infinite void of the black. Interlocking hexagons shimmered in a pulsing rhythm over the wound in the Gunboat Diplomat's hull. Just to the right of the damage, the twisted, melted metal of the power storage battery hung loose and open, pouring purple light like a gash in reality.
My personal shield, the one that I'd been storing on the ship, sparked to life as I approached the exposed battery, absorbing heat and radiation spillage from the damaged part and using it as power. Once I was close enough to see the inside of the battery, I pulled out my PA, not expecting anything new.
It only took a breath to establish that, despite my wiring a spare shielding cell into the network of the battery, we were still losing power each cycle through the laser wound. Nanite temp-repair gel had been enough to slow the pour of energy, but it was a patch, and perpetual energy needed a perfect system to remain perpetual.
There was a chance that I could rewire the shields connection and it would be good enough. I reached down to grab the hardlight adjuster on my hip and ended up patting nothing. Shit. "Victoria. Can you throw down the tool? I need it." After waiting long enough, I called again, "Victoria?"
There were two taps behind me as Victoria gently lowered herself through the floor into the maintenance hallway, stooping to avoid knocking her head on any of the support struts. She walked over with awkwardly bent knees and pressed the adjuster into my hand.
"You shouldn't be down here without a-" Victoria showed me her other hand and revealed my old mk23 shield generator. "-Thanks."
"Any better?"
"Yes and no."
"By-"
"We're losing less power, but we're still losing. I just wanna try decoupling the shield cell I hot-wired in there and seeing if I can't-" I cut myself off to focus as I reached into the hole in the battery's casing and started dematerializing the hardlight wiring I'd built before. "If I can't get it running better."
"No chance of perfect then?"
"Don't think so."
Breaking down hardlight was usually quick work, but when working around a damaged battery storing enough power to restart a miniature sun, everything took too much time. Unlike the previous rounds of repairs, Victoria stayed with me this time and kept trying to find new angles to see what I was working on.
After a while, she gave up and sat down on the floor. ; there wasn't enough room in the hallway to see past me and into the casing.
"You can go back up and-"
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
"Diadona?"
"Yes."
"Is that a human last name too?"
"No." I stopped working momentarily, pulling the adjuster out and shaking the last motes of light free of it. How close were Fotuan and human languages that her translator could catch the differences in species' last names?
"But you're-"
"Yes, I'm human," I confirmed, "I was adopted by a mixed family."
"Pardon?"
"My biological parents were human. Mom was an Ovishir, and Dad was a human."
"But you just said that-"
"Mom and Dad raised me after adoption; my bio-parents provided the parts," I clarified.
"Sorry, I'm just confused by- You keep saying 'adoption,' and I don't think it translates."
"Really?"
"I don't know what it means."
"It means that the people who raised me didn't give birth to me."
"That's so strange. And one of them was an Ovishir?"
"My Mom."
"And by Mom, you mean-"
"She raised me but didn't give birth to me. Yes."
"That's so weird," Victoria added just as I had to get quiet again to focus on what my hands were doing. My PA overlaid a wiring setup on the AR glass as the optimal path for energy, but it was the same one I'd just been using. I added a small touch of hard light off the highlighted circuit, hoping the system would suggest something else, but it just told me to erase my work.
Shit.
I knew my way around electronics well enough to follow instructions, but I wasn't about to take apart and rewire the entire battery when it was powering my ship through the black. That was just asking to become a statistic.
I set myself on redrawing the wired connections that I'd just spent the last few minutes erasing. Victoria spoke up again.
"You were raised by an Ovishir, then?"
"Mostly, my D- male parent," I switched the wording to try and help the idea translate for her, "died when I was pretty young so-"
"And that male parent was-"
"Human."
"I didn't know that was a thing that happened."
"Hm?"
"Two different species raising a kid," she explained, "just seems… Wrong isn't the right word, but it's strange."
"How long have you been away from Fotul?"
"Pardon?"
"How long have you been outside of Meritocracy space? Mixed couples aren't common, but they aren't that rare."
"I-"
"I'm just surprised you haven't seen one. How long have you been away?"
I'd almost finished rewiring the system, but I pulled my hand out to let my shield cool down. It could use the energy from the battery but feeding it too much for too long was asking for it to overload, and, unlike some other species, I couldn't get exposed to that much radiation for very long at all.
"I'm going to go check on our flight path options," Victoria said as she stood up, "let me know how the repairs go once you're done." She walked away before she was fully finished speaking.
I sighed once she was out of earshot and got back to work.
Even though adding the shield cell to defend the tears in the circuit had given the best results of anything I'd tried, we were still light years away from perfect energy cycling, even with optimal hardlight wiring. There was a chance that I could have gotten us somewhere closer if I had physical wires to use, but I didn't have any heavy-duty spares on the ship.
If this had taught me anything, it had shown me that I had too many spare parts for guns and not enough for the ship itself.
At least I'd have time to look at the Basking once we'd chosen a new destination.
I held the PA up to the newly rewired system and let it calculate how much energy we were losing on each cycle, then sent that data to the nav console itself before packing and heading back up myself.
As I closed the access panel to the lower deck and re-affixed the radiation shielding, Victoria spoke up from the cockpit.
"Are you kidding me?"
"What's wrong?" I asked without turning my attention over to her yet.
"We're losing that much power? I thought that-"
"Mhm."
"Well-" Victoria growled in frustration, and I heard her shoot up from her seat, "none of the routes I was planning are going to work then."
"Not enough?"
"We wouldn't even make it halfway to Ovigaia according to your human piece of-" she trailed off. We'd already beaten around the bush once regarding her ship vs mine. The Gunboat Diplomacy had won because it wasn't currently scrap metal polluting Mythellion's orbit.
"What are our options then?" I asked as I finally stood up in our conversation. Victoria turned back to the cockpit and got into the co-pilot's seat.
"Two. Maybe three."
"I think we need a main population center for repairs."
"One then, maybe two."
"What planet's number one?"
"Not a planet," Victoria brought it up on the screens as I went to meet her, blocking out the infinite void that the front cameras had been showing for the past hours. The reading on the screen was an ancient mining station that had been retrofitted into a colony ship. "Station-"
"What's the other option?"
"Uh-" Victoria shot a questioning look but no questions with it, "Baris-Na, an Anteraxi forward colony."
"Baris-Na it is."
Victoria didn't hit anything that would mark the planet as the ship's target. Instead, she pointed to the bottom of the screen and the energy it would take to get there. "I said maybe for a reason."
If we cut everything but the engines, we'd need to drop out of superluminal speeds within a few hours and drift for three days.
"We should aim for Station 26; the other one's not really an option."
I bit my lip for a moment before speaking up. "You're right." There wasn't a point in explaining why I'd cut her off before. Avoiding the obvious choice was just putting us in unnecessary danger.
Still, I'd told myself I'd never be back.

2023.03.24 12:33 ThrowawayAy786 How difficult/expensive would this be to fix?

https://imgur.com/a/MxmEMt7
Hey guys, last December I got into a collision from the rear that pushed me forward into another vehicle and unfortunately my 91 Mazda 323 sustained damages which I’m pretty sure are cosmetic only (car runs great still).
I went to local repair shops near me and was quoted between 3k to 4.5k to find parts/repair. Then the cash settlement offer from insurance came through and it was only 1.8k, which is markedly lower than what I was quoted.
So how difficult would this be to repair? And am I being quoted accurately?

2023.03.24 12:16 Jiale88996 Comprehensive Coverage for Hit-and-Run Accidents: Do You Need It?

Comprehensive Coverage for Hit-and-Run Accidents: Do You Need It?
We all think we will never suffer an accident, but sometimes someone hits out car and then abandon the area without letting us any information to find them. This is what is called a hit-and-run accident, and I know, you want to kick that person in that area of hiher body where never it reaches the sunlight. The worse part of all of this, you end up not knowing that can you do next. In this article we will explain all you need to know wheter or not you need compreehsnive coverage to protect your car if that happens.
Hit-and-run accidents have been exponentially increasing since past years

What is a Hit-and-Run Accident?

If you have been living in a cave for the last 50 years and you don’t know what is hit-and-run, it happens when someone hits your car, a cyclist, a property or even a person and then flee to the accident area without stopping to wait for the police to come, changing insurance information or checking if you need help or not. That sort of accidents may end up damaging your car or your property, but also, it may cause you injuries or even fatalities. The sad part of this definition is that may happen to anyone at any time.

Why Do Hit-and-Run Accidents Happen?

Many reasons can be applied to explain why drivers prefer to flee the scene of an accident. Some common reasons include:

  • Fear of getting caught
  • Lack of insurance
  • Intoxication or drug use
  • Prior criminal record
  • Panic or confusion
Acording to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,) (NHTSA), the amount of fatalities by hit-and-run has been increasing exponentially increasing since 2019, in the past 2020 over 2,500 people were dead by hit-and-run. If you get caught hitting and not stopping you can be criminally charged and face car accident lawsuit in a civil court.

What is Comprehensive Coverage?

Comprehensive coverage is a coverage option that will protect your vehicle against non-collision dangers like theft, vandalism, natural disasters -fires, floods- falling objects -trees, rocks, hails-, animal related damages -hitting a deer, rodent damage-, among others. The average cost of comprehensive coverage in the country depends on many factors, I will plain further more below, continue reading.

What Does Comprehensive Coverage Cover?

Comprehensive coverage covers non-collision damage to your car, including:

  • Theft or vandalism
  • Fire or explosions
  • Hail, windstorms, or floods
  • Falling objects, like a tree branch or rock
  • Collision with an animal
  • Damage caused by riots or civil disturbances
You must read the delcaration page of your insurance policy carefully. For example, some comprehensive coverage policies only cover water damage from floods, but they wouldn’t cover water damage from a broken pipe.
Does Comprehensive coverage covers Hit-and-Run accidents?
No, comprehensive coverage won’t coer hit-and-run. But if you have collision coverage will cover the damages to your car minus deductibles.
Will at least cover hit-and-run when parked my car?
Some car insurers will cover it, some others won’t
How to Save Money on Comprehensive Coverage
As you read above, comprehensive coverage won’t cover hit-and-run, This coverage option is quite exensive due it covers non-collision damages caused on your car, most of them are acts of God, vandalism, or theft. Depending on where you live, you will need to add comprehensive coverage in your policy. Here are some ways to save money in your comprehensive coverage:

  • Shop around. I know, everyone told you that, go shop around. But it’s a fact. If you request 5 or 6 quotes to different car insurers, you will find if you’re paying too much or too few for your comprehensive coverage. It won’t cost you nothing but a couple of minutes to compare all of them. So if you find another car insurer which has the same amount of coverage than your current one, but cheaper, then you can just switch car insurer. This way you will save money.
  • Deductibles. The amount of deductibles you set when buying your policy will tell to your car insurer how good will you be with them when filing a claim. That means if you set $250 deductibles, you will look like able to file a claim more lightly compared to someone who set $500 deductibles. The reason why is your car insurer will have to pay less when you file a claim.
  • Bundling insurance policies: Bundling insurance policies is one of the best ways to save money, if you have 2 or more cars you can always add multi-car insurance, this way you will have discounts for your policy.
  • Be a seafe driver. good drivers will get special beneifts such as good driver discounts, but also, they will obtain accident forgiveness from their car insurers.
Alternatives to Comprehensive Coverage for Hit-and-Run Accidents
Uninsured motorist coverage. In a nutshell, this coverage option will pay the medical expenses, lost wages for you and your passengers if the other driver doesn’t have insurance.
Collision coverage. Collision coverage will cover the damages of your vehicle regardless who is at fault, as hit-and-run is considered a collision, this coverage option will pay your repair bills from your car.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP). Personal injury protection, or PIP, is a coverage option that can help you cover medical expenses and lost wages in case you suffer an accident. It can also cover some of your passengers' medical expenses, regardless of who was at fault for the accident.
Conclusion:
Hit-and-run accidents is a real problem nowadays, and it’s really hard to fight against. Many people die because of hit-and-run. Answering the question related to comprehensive coveage, no, comprehensive coverage won’t cover hit-and-run. You must add collision coverage and/or PIP insurance to be covered.
Read more in my blog.

2023.03.24 10:11 fuckingJJ Should I pay my buildings service charge if no maintenance or repairs have been carried out?

Hey all, looking to get some advice regarding a property I own and the charges that come with it.
In 2016 I purchased a flat in Surrey, England and as part of the agreement this included ground rent and service charges.
The service charges were put in to pay for maintenance and repairs of communal areas, as well as the electricity and any other utilities.
It soon became apparent that the owner of the building had no intention of paying for any of the above so, as a group, the residents all decided to stop paying the service charge.
We were in a stand off until 2018 when the owner went into liquidation. A year later in 2019, he finally admitted to owning this property and a liquidator took over.
We thought this would be a good thing and we’d finally get the repairs and maintenance that we needed. This turned out to not be the case.
When dealing with them they would take weeks, sometimes months to come back to us. We’d be promised call backs but these would never materialise.
In the end, we entered another stand off and the service charge remains unpaid from 2019 to present day.
Last week I received a letter from the liquidator asking me to pay this outstanding balance and it appeared that a new representative had taken over.
I called them to discuss this and told the new representative how we shouldn’t be expected to pay the full service charge if only the bare minimum was done. I also went onto describe how certain parts of the areas are unsafe. This includes exits being jammed shut, entrances not locking, exposed wires and light switches that routinely spark when turn on/off. You can probably imagine how it looks without being cleaned as well!
Their response was that no maintenance, cleaning or repairs would be carried out until they sold the building at which point it would fall to the new owner. Instead, the money would be used to insure the building and pay for previous work which only includes replacing 2 fire extinguishers and two fire alarms.
There reasoning for this was that the service charge, which was set by them, isn’t enough to pay for anything additional.
I told them that I wouldn’t be paying and they have threatened me with legal action and 10% interest pa if it’s not paid by next week.
Do you think I should hire a solicitor to mediate or should I pay and hope for the best?
Thanks in advance!

2023.03.24 06:11 ThrowawayAy786 How hard would this be to repair? Insurance giving me the run around…

https://imgur.com/a/MxmEMt7
Hey guys, last December I got into a collision from the rear that pushed me forward into another vehicle and unfortunately my 91 Mazda 323 sustained damages which I’m pretty sure are cosmetic only (car runs great still). I’ve been in conversation with insurance and repair shops and I could really use some advice. This is the first time anything like this has happened so I’m really confused being pulled around in different directions but I know I’m not at fault and the other guy has accepted this.
Initially they sent me to a repair shop that couldn’t do it (didn’t really look at the car) and that they would inform insurance to opt for cash settlement, so I went to local repair shops near me and was quoted between 3k to 4.5k to find parts/repair damages, but they couldn’t provide me a written quote as they don’t provide that for AAMI or APIA. Then the cash settlement offer came through and it was only 1.8k, which is markedly lower than what I was quoted. The insurance guy said that this is reasonable and that I shouldn’t expect to get more. But in that case, I’m not at fault and I still lose money?
Now I’m trying to figure out what to do. Should I take the cash settlement? Should I try to get a written quote? Should I just pay for the repairs myself? Just really confused and don’t know the best route to take. Sorry for the wall of text.

Had passenger fender replaced due to some collision damage on VW Atlas. Headlamp wasn't aligned properly. This can be fixed, right?
As the title states, I just got my VW Atlas back today after 7 days for replacing a damaged fender (someone hit me in a parking lot).
I didn't notice this initially, but my wife pointed it out. The right headlight looks like it was not properly installed. I understand that some panel gaps might be expected after collision repair, but not this bad, right? I plan to take it back to the shop tomorrow to show them.
Wtf?
Here is the other side (what it should look like)

2023.03.24 00:41 Wise_Abroad_2749 ICBC-approved shop installed off-the-market parts on my Car

I was called in to come to the ICBC-approved body shop today where my car is located. Upon arrival and inspection of the vehicle, I noticed that my car is still damaged and visibly looked wrong.
  1. There were new white scratch marks on the right side of the car.
  2. The bumper is crooked and not aligned properly. There are major gaps between the bumper and the hood.
  3. The painting was not done properly. It was peeling off and the rust was showing off in multiple places. Some of the paint was still fresh and peeling off.
  4. The headlamps are still broken and chirping off. The new ones need to be ordered and replaced.
  5. There is a rubber piece on the hood closest to the front window shield that was peeling off, too.
  6. There are new scratches on both mirrors that were not there before.
  7. The car was dirty and dusty, and no detailing was done.
The body shop people pressured me to sign off on a car which I was not comfortable with. I was in shock to see how sloppy they have done the work after 7 weeks of waiting.
I called ICBC and the guy who I initially was in touch with, told me to take the car, do as the shop says, and deal with it later. It's now my problem because I was the one who chose the auto body shop, not ICBC. Although, it's an ICBC-approved body shop and when I asked this ICBC guy for advice, he said it would be a good body shop to send my car to and if anything, ICBC will get involved. Now that that I have a problem, it's my problem only because it was my decision.
When bringing up these issues to the owner of the autobody shop, she started screaming at me from the top of her lungs and threatening me that if I do not pick up the car, the ICBC will not compensate uber because the car is drivable now. I felt very unsafe being around her.
She wanted me to sign the paperwork which I refused as my safety was compromised and once it's signed, it's my problem and will be hard to prove anything.
She then yelled at me even more and informed me that they have installed off-the-market bumper parts on my car and they are not Toyota-certified body parts and that is why they do not align. She refused to order a new bumper. She said I do not have proper insurance which is why I do not qualify for the right parts. Installing off the marker parts to me sounds like an unlawful act. It is hard to believe that ICBC would approve anything like that.
I am not a driver at fault. I pay for Road Side + out of my own pocket in addition to the full ICBC insurance coverage (Collision, Comprehensive) that I have.
The repair shop had called the iCBC and informed them that the car is fixed two days prior to my arrival and inspection. ICBC is now saying that they will not pay for Uber (I did not get a courtesy car) because the car is "fixed". I explained to them what happened and that it is not fixed, and waiting for the response. In my email, I insisted on a CAPA-tested replacement bumper and other car parts that do not compromise my safety.
What are my rights here? Should I call the police? Is this a potential lawsuit? Please advise. Never been in a car accident before & new to the country.

2023.03.24 00:30 jramz_dc 2019 Tuono F with 3500 miles suddenly overheating in traffic

Bike was in the shop (for 10 months) starting in April 2022 to repair some damage incurred in a minor traffic collision—mostly just plastics and the brake fluid reservoir. Adding this for context, bc it’s the main thing that’s different from last warm(ish) weather riding.
Anyway, it was in the mid-70’s today, so I was tooling around town running errands. Got stuck in some miserable bumper to bumper traffic for about 20 minutes. Glanced down at my dash display and noticed that the engine temp was reporting as 230° which shocked me bc I’d never previously seen it above 214° when the cooling fan would kick in. Temp climbed to 239° before the warning light came on, which prompted me to pull off the side and shut it down. Once it cooler a bit and traffic subsided, started back up and had no further issues as long as I was moving. Temp was a little higher than usual (like 220° tops), but it didn’t seem too worrying.
It’s clearly going to get warmer here, so I’m obviously concerned about this being a new feature of my city riding experience. Anyone have any ideas what might be the issue, or is this completely normal?
