Hi.
As of this month, we've known each other for over two years. Honestly, I was really in love with you, but you never took me seriously. You played with my heart and showed no remorse for it... ever.
When we first started talking and after your breakup with Z, I comforted you through it all and was your rock and foundation whenever you needed something, anything to lean on. We flirted with each other, and we both took it pretty far. You even joked and practically offered to send me... soapy... pics completely unwarranted. Then I think not even a month later, you got back with him, and I had to choose whether I would choose to stay your friend or retreat back into my then-broken heart.

You know which I chose. Over the next six months, I would stay by your side and listen. I learned your patterns and behaviors, so I could be just one step ahead and ensure you felt safe whenever you needed me. I took every call, and I always called you back when I couldn't. I dried your tears and made you laugh. I kept you happy in the little moments we shared because we were all we had. It really was just us. S was there too, and while I am grateful for all he's done he's an enabler and you know it and frankly reacts really badly to things. Not that I'm perfect. We both know that.
When Z ended, and you finally moved out, A came in. I was so excited to confess my feelings to you when you were ready to move on from Z. You had said you were waiting to heal and then you told me not even a week later that you had a date planned. This hurt way more than I had ever thought it could.... so I asked for a break. I had been giving you so much of my time and energy and after that, I needed to be away to recollect and take care of myself.
You called me on day 4 of 5 because your mother had one of her freakouts. I almost didn't answer but I chose to because I didn't want to leave you alone. I knew it was important. What hurt me was that it needed to be me that you talked to then and that I was stupid enough to ask about A in an attempt to bring your mind to better things. I took my last day alone and we started talking again. You told me how this one creep you knew was jealous of me. It made me feel special and that you maybe liked me again.
More time passed and I was back at school. You started having PTSD flashbacks at night about Z and didn't have anyone you felt you could trust, so you called and texted me. I offered to stream games for you and Elden Ring is what I chose. I stayed with you until 4 am despite having my classes that morning because I wanted you to feel safe. I always stayed until you were on the edge of sleep. Honestly, I wanted you to fall asleep with me. It was shortly after that that we confessed our feelings for each other. You told me how when you were out with A you liked things about him that you saw in me or when you were doing things you'd think "oh I know H would love this". I should have known then that you would never take me seriously. In your own words, you told me that even if we didn't date and you chose A or neither of us you'd always have me in the back of your mind.
And there I was... the option. The backup. Your shoulder to cry on with no responsibility. I made it too easy for you, though. I was so loving and forgiving. So patient and willing. It didn't matter as long as it was you and me.
You wouldn't break up with him despite the red flags and the warnings. We would have a talk later about how I still had feelings, and when your friend DM'd me at midnight you felt jealous that someone might take me from you. You even told me about your high school friend who you told you weren't ready and then he got swept up. And I fell for that story. I stayed and waited because I really loved you and I wanted to make you happy as much as I wanted myself to be happy. But you never took me seriously. Never gave it any real thought. It wouldn't be for another 5-6 months when you would finally tell me that "your priorities changed" and the feelings "faded away". Until then though, you would breadcrumb me. Give me little moments where you'd tell me things like, "I don't know if I can love, the only people I really love are you and S". You'd tell me little I love you's here and there. As if you knew it made my knees weak. Then M came along, and you didn't even have the courtesy to tell me you were dating him, just how he used you and coerced you. I still listened to you and dried your tears like a good little pet. That ended faster than the rest. You told me about your manager E and how you had developed some feelings for him but weren't sure because he was so much older.
Then the time came for me to visit you. You had promised me a week or so before that you would post a video about me on your TikTok after I visited you as you did for S.
I really didn't ask for much. I wanted you to meet me at the airport, and I would handle the rest. I gave you all my times and sent you updates as I went. But when I landed, you were nowhere to be found. You weren't even awake. Your best friend and closest confidante, and you left me alone at the airport. You said you couldn't get anyone to take you, but I honestly don't believe you really even tried. I drove to my hotel and waited for 2 hours before I heard a word from you. You told me you still had to do your chores and would be done in 30 minutes. It was an hour. I waited for you at the park in the rain and I tried not to care. I just wanted to see you. That hug felt so amazing when it finally happened, but my joy was short-lived. When you introduced me to your friends, I was just an "online friend." Nothing more. But it gave me hope all the same.

I wanted the world to know that I saw my best friend in person and that I loved them. You didn't post anything but a small post on your snap story about a wine glass I bought you. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I remember how you told me that you were sorry you couldn't afford to buy me anything because you blew all your money on your birthday and I waived it off. "It's your birthday and you deserve to do things that make you happy". In truth it hurt that you hadn't even tried to save anything for me. I paid for everything. Everything. Your food, my hotel, my flights. my food, your gifts. All of it. My parents helped with the rental and parking but I did the rest. All for you. All you could show for it was telling me how you wanted to save up to see me for a whole week. Thats it.
I went home.
I waited for you to post anything. All you posted that day was a picture of yourself that IW left heart eyes emojis on. You started talking to me less and less. You ghosted me for a week and my dog died and I was left all alone. The one person is wanted to rely on as they had relied on me was nowhere to be found. It ate away at me and when you finally got back to me I confronted you about your feelings. Thats when you finally told me there was nothing for me. And you had started dating him.
You told me a month later how he was treating you and I was a little worried it was love bombing but I put it away. You were happy.
But I wasn't. Then you called me to tell me about your fight and his behaviors. I told you to leave. You were going to. You were so close but you stayed. Stayed for another two months while he cheated on you and treated you like shit. Gave you death threats and you supposedly were going to get a restraing order. You two still follow each other so I take it that never went through, and you, like always, still fantasize about a version of him that never really existed. He is Z 2.0. You didn't even let me help you through that one. You ghosted me for another two weeks a little later and I got mad and did some rather brash things that I regret. But in fairness you didn't even tell me when you got the little package I sent you full of nice things to make you smile. The only good thing that came out of that time was you acknowledged that you should have communicated. It's been a month since then and we still haven't talked much. I gave you your space and messaged you less. I understand that you're busy but you've shown almost no effort at all. I know you still miss him but I miss my fucking friend.
I miss the person who would call me at random just to hang out and see me. I miss the person who respected me and treated me like a valued person in their life. Now you have these new friends and while I'm happy you don't even treat me like I exist. I was just a toy for you to use and throw away. You didn't even tell me when you fucked up your knee. You told me a week later. And then I see you playing destiny with someone as if you didn't know that that was my favorite game. Didn't message me or anything.
That brings us to today. It's been about 4 or 5 days since we last spoke and I'm not going to text you first. I can't do that to myself. You aren't worth that pain anymore. You don't get my energy, my time, or my love unless you fucking earn it. Let my silence bring a void to your life as you lose me. The one person who really loved you for you. But not to me, I’ve always been.. aware I guess you can say that there is a bigger picture to life, that we are more powerful than we think and I learned the hard way that there are beings in the universe who seeks to keep us in ignorance.
My name is Aurora larvae and I am here to tell you that YOU have the power to change the world, to have the life YOU want and maybe.. just maybe, enough of us will awaken to free the human race, but for now, let me start from the beginning.
It all started one morning very similar to all the rest. I awoke and as usual began my morning routine of checking my socials for new doses of dopamine. I of course hit my record 1 million views on the infamous TikTok doing nothing but cringeworthy dances. I mean, I did manifest it but come on! How could anyone truly have enjoyed that?? I guess maybe I just wanted to see how far I could take my abilities from afar.
I stared at my screen reading through the variety of flame and heart eyed emojis when my trance was broken by my sweet sweet parents calling me downstairs. I threw myself out of bed and marched my way downstairs.
Aurora: “GoodMorning mom!”
Zoe: “GoodMorning Sweetheart, I’m shocked I had to even wake you, you’re usually up far before your father & I.”
I suddenly mentally froze as I pondered over whether I should tell her about my late night adventures. I guess that is also a good time to mention that I can astral project. Meaning, I can leave my physical body at will and travel the world and even the universe as a spirit. I do it every single night really, though sometimes I miss my ordinary nights and go to bed and wake regularly.
But my mind also went back to what she told me. I DO wake up before my parents so why was this time any different? Suddenly I remembered, it hit me in one wave after another but all of the memories came back!
I was flying throughout space as per usual whisking past a purple and green planet. It’s aura reached out and touched me and I felt a greeting from the planet. I returned the gesture and went on my way. I was about to fly right into the heart of a star when I felt the most evil, gut-wrenching feeling of terror overwhelm me. It was so powerful I swear I could almost feel it, this feeling of evil weighed so heavy on my soul that I began struggling to stay afloat at this point and that was when I saw it.
A shadowy humanoid figure with glowing yellow eyes floating towards me in the distance, as I made eye contact with it I could feel a hatred overcome me that was somehow even worse than the evil before and as I stared at it, unable to move it lunged at me….
Except after all of my years of AP’ing teleporting back into my body was an an easy breeze allowing anything scary I allowed my thoughts to conjure up end right there, as I flew away from the being I went down a starry tunnel and into my body, something was different though. I seemed to be in my body yet not? Either way, I assumed the being must’ve messed up my sleep schedule somehow and I chalked it up to just a fault of my mind, maybe a subconscious memory of a nightmare I had as a child.. Right??
Zoe: “Aurora, sweetie, did you hear me?”
Aurora: “oh, right! Yes I must’ve blacked out for a moment.. I suppose I just overslept, had one of those nights y’know.”
Zoe: “well maybe this breakfast will help cheer you up. Look, your father & I made waffles AAAANNDDD fried chicken. Your favorite.”
Aurora: “oh. My. God. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!”
I will say one thing. It sure as hell distracted me from that awful creature, I dug in of course and began contemplating what I should do for today. Maybe go visit my friends Kim, Aph, Kyle, Kenneth, or maybe Brendan? Or maybe I should just meditate and enter into a lucid dream? My thoughts were interrupted by a sudden bang at my front door. My father got up to go check what it was as I simply stared in confusion.
Zoe: “What the hell was that??”
Aaron: “I’m sure it’s nothing, probably just some asshole mailman throwing our mail at the door instead of putting it in the mail holder like a decent human bei…”
I left my table to see what shocked my dad so much he didn’t even bother finishing his sentence. When I finally reached him I peered over his shoulder and gasped.

Here are the rules I follow:

• Post from 1 to 10 videos every day.
• Post vertical videos (9:16).
• Always add some interesting text label to your videos, add one or two emojis to it.
• Start your video in an interesting moment.
• End your video right after the goal (my game is about soccer, people will no longer watch after the goal), in your game just end the video after the culmination (most interesting moment).
• Post the videos from your phone and add some famous music to it (I can only use music available for commercial use). Music is very important on TikTok.
• Use from 3 to 8 hashtags (in your local language and in English).
• Use ONLY concrete hashtags strongly related to your video, examples for my game Ball 3D: Soccer Online: #gameplay, #multiplayer, #footballgoal, #ball3d
• Before using a hashtag, browse it on TikTok and see what kind of videos are popular there, to make sure that it is a good fit for your video.
• 6 to 15 seconds videos work the best for me, don't post videos shorter than 5 seconds as they will not be promoted.
• Watch other TikTok videos from games to see what may work.
• Post videos not only in English but also in your local language from time to time.
• You can repost your old videos too, change the music and the text labels.
• Your video will have a chance to be promoted for 3 months. You need to be patient, the video will sometimes not generate views at the beginning, but it may start after some time. Then it may stop again and after some time start again.
• You may also try SEO on your vidoes as many people use TikTok to search. So from time to time it is worth using some important keywords in the description and in the label.

From my observations in my case it looks like for every 1000 to 5000 views, one person buys my very cheap game. If you are there for wishlists, the percent will probably be similar.

I post very simple videos and I often repost the old ones too with new text labels and it still works. I also often say straight that my game is on Steam Sale and it makes people curious too and these videos get many views. My most popular 5 second video earned 3 700 000 views.
The number of views and comments is very high especially as compared to the time needed to post these videos.

We only knew each other for a short time two years ago. He was a really immature kid and told people that he liked me when he had a girlfriend. They broke up not too long after and for the past two years he’s been looking at my social media close to every day. Even so, I’m not gonna pretend like he’s fully devoted to me because he knows I look at his social media too, and he hasn’t reached out to me. Not to mention for a while, he still clearly had feelings for his ex, and even had a brief crush on one of his classmates. So I’m not going to pretend like he’s been on his knees begging to get with me. In fact, there was one time last summer when I looked at his TikTok and I accidentally liked it. I unliked it immediately, but he definitely saw, and still didn’t make a move.
However, he recently made a new playlist on Spotify. Maybe I don’t have definitive proof that’s it’s about me, but chances are, it’s about me. He’s from another country and all of the songs are in English. The last song title is the name of my city. This playlist has 22 songs and was made 22 days before my 22nd birthday. So why did he make this playlist? It’s possible he is trying to play a game but he and I live in different countries and we’re not even social media friends. What would be the benefit? Not mention it’s been two years since we last talked.
I’d also like to add that since he made this playlist he hasn’t been looking at my social media that much. Before he was looking at it every 3 to 4 days. But now he looks at it maybe every 3 or 4 weeks. Also, the title of the playlist is just a rooster emoji, so maybe he’s trying to tell me that he’s down bad.

I'm working on a game with another dev, and putting quite a bit of effort into marketing. We both came from Niantic among other studios, so we learned a lot there. I know marketing can be one of the toughest things for devs, so I wanted to share what we're doing to market our first game.

Figure out your Target Audience
Chief Emoji Officer is a text adventure and started off as a prototype. We started looking into games similar to it, like Emily Is Away, [I] doesn't exist, A Normal Lost Phone, and just searched for other 'text adventure' games on Steam. This helped us figure out our genre, the tags we use on Steam, and the communities we'd post in on Reddit and social media.
We really honed in on Emily Is Away and the sequels. We looked at communities related to it, what people liked about it, and the game systems that the game has. We drew a lot of inspiration from it, but we also looked at other narratives like Bojack Horseman and Mythic Quest to get inspiration for the characters.
We added Steam tags similar to the games above, and are able to make tweaks based on the "More like this" list on Steam.
Create a Brand Identity
"Chief Emoji Officer" was an idea in a long list of ideas for the name of our game. But it resonated with both me and Bo, and it didn't have a lot of content on the internet related to it. No other games are named "Chief Emoji Officer" and there aren't hashtags on Twitter associated with it other than Jeremy Burges, who is an emoji historian and started the emoji reference site Emojipedia.
So we went with that and started developing a logo, testing out fonts, looking for references, and trying to hit the "pretend serious" feeling.
We've iterated on the messaging quite a bit, but the main mechanic of the game is "become CEO using only emojis" which is simple and easy to understand. From there, we expanded on what the game has to offer by looking at other interactive fiction Steam pages and posting in Reddit communities to get feedback.
Leverage Social Media
Social media plays a part in the marketing of your game, but you shouldn't put all of your eggs in one basket. Social media is important because you can build a community around your game and get a 'pulse' of how people feel about the game and get quick feedback.
At first, I didn't think a Youtube channel would be important. But after I saw how well the ads did and we got thousands of views in a couple of days, I realized we needed to put more effort into Youtube by adding a header, filling out the about section, and adding a call-to-action in the description of each video. Keep reading for more on ads!
Reddit, Twitter, and Youtube are the most important social media platforms to us right now. Our game isn't visual enough for Instagram or TikTok, and one of us would have to learn a ton about TikTok to make it happen.
Figure out your Timeline
If you've done the above, you're probably at the point where you're going to make a timeline to schedule press, send emails, schedule streamers, and make posts on social media.
Build a Press and Streamers List
This part is all about research, tailoring your message, and cold calls. At this point in my life I have no shame and I'm willing to contact someone randomly, but I always make a point to make sure it brings some value to them or is highly tailored to their interests.
We build a press list through our friends in the industry, people who have written on us before, and journalists who have written on similar games.
As for streamers, we've done a lot of research into people who stream similar games or are into the genre of our game.
So we made a long list and are in the process of reaching out and offering Steam keys to get the word out. A big value of our game is that it only takes up to 2 hours to play, so it's not as large of a commitment for someone interested in streaming it.
Press kits are important when sending to press. They've asked for them as we've reached out, and typically include blurbs about the game, pricing, gifs, videos, and images/logos. We're still working on this. https://bodeville.com/games.html
Make Ads
Ads have been a big learning experience for us. Testing and iterating has been a successful process for us to get impressions, views, and clicks. We started with a small budget for testing, around 30 dollars to test on Youtube. Reddit actually offers a 100 dollar ad credit, so we took advantage of that across two accounts.
It's helped us learn more about the demographics who are interested in our game so we can target our ads and social media efforts there. Our first ad resulted in a decent amount of views (for one day) but no clicks, so we iterated:

• Need CTA in the ad
• Make a custom ad that's less than 57 seconds, specific for wishlisting, post on youtube
• Get more specific on interests
• Update youtube video thumbnails
• Make banner for youtube channel

And came out with good results! This led us to learn more about the demographics that are interacting with the ad, and we targeted those sub-reddits and interests on Youtube.
So we got 3.2k views on our trailer video and learned some about the view rate on a small data set.
We are still tinkering with ads a lot, and will be doing a lot more at launch. We don't necessarily have a budget but are targeting a logical CPV and trying to understand our conversion rate while we monitor clicks, wishlists, and purchases once we launch.
Be Creative and Resourceful
It's important to try a lot of different things when you're marketing your game, while keeping a "measure for success" in mind for everything you've tried. That way you know what's working and what isn't. Keep in mind you'll need to be adaptable, flexible, and able to think on your feet as you're coming up with ideas to get people's eyeballs on your game.
Marketing isn't always the first thing on everyone's mind, and I don't see a lot of resources around. Hope it's helpful for some dev team.

TLDR: I need to improve my reel editing skills and speed. What tips and tricks do others have? I use Premiere.

Lately reels and YT Short needs have dominated my client's needs. I get interest but rarely win jobs. When I create a few for them to show what I can do, even when I emulate their current style, they go with another freelancer.
People expect the world, and think they're easy to create because they look easy (which is also called talent!). Where I'm struggling, well seems to be everywhere.
I'm struggling to compete with the functionality provided in-app from the likes of TikTok and Instagram. These are multi-billion dollar companies but I feel there must still be a way I can compete with them without spending 2+ hours per reel, plus revisions. So far people have scoffed at this time estimate.

Things clients show me and would like to improve upon are below. I really could use some help with this.

-Animated and/or color-changing captions. I have no way to create these other than manipulating them word-by-word once they're auto-transcribed. Do more automated means exist?
-Fake camera movement. A client recently sent me examples he likes and there's a digital vertical and horizontal sway to the footage. Do presets exist that would add gentle camera movement? I've done some tests and using a preset I created with the Transform effect and it's generated middling results.
-Emojis. People want these, but I've yet to find a way to copy-and-paste them into Premiere. I don't think downloading them as PNGs is realistic.
-Should I start editing reels within the apps? Is this unprofessional?

I used to use lots of heart emojis - in all colors (!!) - when texting or typing anything where an emoji keyboard is available, and now I find myself avoiding these 💛💛💛 and it pisses me off. I just keep thinking that it is now a symbol of her gross life and her baby daddy nick name.
Are there things you used to do/say that you now avoid because it gives you Casshole vibes? Has she used any specific products that now you think twice before getting? Does she do anything that you used to think was acceptable but now that you’ve seen her do it you can’t help but feel it’s obnoxious??

Quick background, i (M30) knew this lady (F27) from our workplace. She has already left the company and we did not speak to each other before when she was still working there.
I reached out to her after she left and we connected on a social media platform. Conversations slowly moved to a messaging app after a week and had a great vibe check after moving to the messaging app with plenty of banter. Conversations afterwards were great (with her reciprocating questions and being curious about me). Effort can be seen from her as well, from the long texts with emojis and stickers that she sends along with the time taken to craft the texts (can range between 15-30mins from her first reply to last reply and including making edits to something she has already sent).
Naturally i felt a connection and asked her out. She was going away on a solo trip for a month and told me that we can meet after she is back if i dont find her weird or boring and if we are still talking to each other. After a week into her trip, she suddenly stopped replying and i was left on delivered. I double texted ~2weeks later with a tiktok that i saw and mentioned that it reminded me of her in a playful manner. She still left me on delivered.
It has been 3 weeks close to a month since. I do know about self-worth and i should probably be moving on. But i’m really curious about what happened. Should i shoot her a last text to convey this? And that if she felt that we are not on the same page she could simply tell me straight up and ill leave her alone. Instead of hanging here.

But after like some weeks I reactivated my Instagram and found that he had followed that same girl again who he cheated with, I lost my mind and blocked him. And instead of offering an explaining he literally told me he just contacted her to know if she also thought he cheated on me. Again we talked about this but even his energy was low and he disrespected me and asked me to leave if he thought I didnt love him and eventually broke up with me. He asked me to come back again but I said no, he kept telling me how loyal he was, and changed himself for me, and if he wasn’t genuine he wouldn’t be ready to marry me and give me his passwords, he also told me how that girl told him she had feelings for him but how he ruined his chance with her to be with me because he only wanted me,I told him no and was done, and after he this I also found his reddit post in which he was asking for advice on whether he should convince a girl who is engaged to be with him as he loves her and wants her more than anything. This is the same girl he claimed he never cheated with. I have him blocked now and we are in no contact. For starters, I don't know if this is the right sub to post on but I just feel so incredibly drained.
I don't even know how to begin to explain but since the World cup 2022 I have been obsessed with a French Footballer (Antoine Griezmann). I watch videos or interviews of him every day, I watch his stories on insta daily, I watched his documentary and I know a lot of facts about him bc that's what keeps me interested. He's almost like my comfort place, when everything is going shitty, I watch videos of him and immediately feel happiness.
So now to the actual post/vent: My friend (Let's call her, Z) and I have an edit account on TikTok together. If you don't know what that is, we edit videos of our favorite people, movies or shows and post them. I almost always edit Griezmann. So today I've noticed Z texting dryer than usual. She usually uses a lot of emojis and now she doesn't or she just answers in short sentences. I already asked her if she was okay since she also said she was losing motivation to edit or interest in her favorite actress, so I thought that maybe she was going through a depressive episode but she said that she actually has been doing better these days.
Usually, when people text dry, it makes me super upset and I try to match their energy, but with Z, I tried to text how I always do, even though I still am upset about it. I tend to overthink a lot & if someone texts dry, I just assume they don't like me anymore. (Disclaimer: I don't ONLY talk about Griezmann to her. We talk about a variety of topics)

I don’t know where to go from here. A 6 year relationship down the drain.
My (27F) ex (29M) had weightloss surgery a little over a year ago now and (after losing over 100lbs) out of nowhere said he needed some time to see if he still wanted our relationship. That was on our anniversary in November. I spent thanksgiving by myself and on Christmas Day he gave me a card with a typed letter saying he couldn’t do this anymore but still wants to be friends.
I’m shocked and hurt. We have an apartment, phone lines, and pets together. We were saying to buy a house out of state to be closer to his family. Now all those plans mean nothing. He keeps in contact with me daily through text and even checks in when I don’t respond.
A few days before he dumped me he texted me a TikTok, and when I opened it in app another person’s username and picture popped up saying they sent me the TikTok video. I clicked on the profile and saw it was a woman’s soft porn account on TikTok. I asked him if he knew anybody by that name and he lied and said no. Eventually it came out that this was his friend he was helping build a social media following (he is a truck driver). He had left several comments under her videos saying how beautiful she is.
I recently found out that same “friend” posted my ex on a date with her on her Instagram with heart emojis. The post was from a week after he dumped me. My heart is shattered. I really can’t understand how he could jump to another woman in a week after being with me for 6 years. I can’t understand why he kept in contact with me while seeing someone else.
To put the cherry on top, he took off work to come into town for my birthday this weekend. I never asked or implied I wanted him to. Now he’s saying he needs to explain it to me in person because I just don’t understand him. What’s there to understand? What’s there to further explain?
TLDR: My ex dumped me on Christmas and I’m now finding out about possible cheating on his part. He wants to explain in person, but I’m not sure there’s more to explain.

Remember when Growing Together was first teased, they used that tooth shaped bear thing as the symbol for the pack? Then the official Sims twitter kept using the tooth emoji everywhere. Then we saw the trailers and there's a little bit related to the whole tooth thing in the pack. That got me thinking about the horse emoji the Sims was using on their tiktok comment section around the same time.
What if they're teasing horses, but we end up with some pack where horses are just a small part of it? So what kind of pack could we get where caring for horses and horseback riding could be a good addition but not the main theme of it?
Royalty.
A Royals pack where you can have your sims become royalty, learn horseback riding, maybe something else like fencing? Your royal sims can commission statues of themselves, you can gain fame as a royal if you have Get Famous. IDK, just an idea that came to me earlier. Thought I would share it. What are your thoughts on a royalty pack? If not royalty, what else could horses be used in?
