our dog is very settled in our home, we’ve even had her for years now. she just turned 11 and is still showing signs of fear from habits with the last owner. for example once we were on a hike with her and i found a stick to use as a hiking pole as such, my dog was walking beside me and was shivering out of fear, her last owner obviously used a stick and hit her when she pulled on a lead, there are other habits like this: like going up the stairs and getting on a couch. we have tried many times to get her up and she has gotten up very briefly because i put some treats on it for her but straight away she got back down and had her tail inbetween her legs. any ideas on how i would be able to get her up and to stay?

24M I graduated college in 2021 with a mass communication degree. Since then I've been unable to do find a job that fits my degree. I've applied nonstop to jobs for radio and television as I have experience as a program director as well as some production experience and still have nothing. I have also tried Journalism/News Station job applications and nothing has turned up there as well.
I currently work in a distribution center with ungodly hours that is slowly pushing my future wife and I apart because I don't get home till very late, despite the hours it's a decent company. I used to work in customer service and have 6+ years of it since I was 16.
My friend thinks I should go into IT because I like building computers but after a couple months of studying A+ I'm not interested in the fixing side of things when it comes to that technology.
If anyone has any advice for finding a job that suits my mass communication degree or even a customer service job that pays well and has decent hours I'd be appreciative.

My daughter is 2, she usually sleeps from 8:30-7:00, with one nap before lunch.
But she started daycare and it all went to shit, she comes home and doesn't want to sleep, she is in a good mood but then I take her to bed and she throws a tantrum because she just wants to play. I tried delaying the nap til after lunch, that way she got to play, have some food with us and then she went to bed around 2. But then she would not fall asleep until 9:30 or even after that.
Yesterday she finally fell asleep at 10:30 PM. That never happened before.
Is it possible that she's just not tired enough? She was in a great mood yesterday at bedtime, rolling around in bed, singing, she just wasn't tired at all... Which leads me to think she might be over naps.
I don't want her to fall asleep that late, it doesn't work for us, and it's not good for kids either. 8:30 is late already, she has to be up at 7 for daycare.
It's 8:15 and she just woke up, so I'm thinking no nap today.

I just need some advice.. 30m, single atm.
Currently in a contractual job (Data Center) which is renewed every year (my 1st year). Technicians only have to go to the data center (several sites) when there are servers to be fixed otherwise you can just do literally anything at home. Pay is fixed per month, even if you only worked just a couple of days in a month. Pros is I have a lot of free time where I've been studying to get certificates (I just got 1 and 2 more in the summer) but growth within the position is unheard of if I will base it to my current work mates.
Got an offer as a full-time analyst (IT field) from the previous place I worked for. Pay might be a little lower, I would have to move, maybe 1 or 2 hours away from the city, and no remote work. Also the position is quite intimidating and challenging as well as I would have to build everything from the ground, up.

I was wondering if I could get any advice on how to improve my financial situation. I'm more concerned with financial independence than retiring early but I don't feel like I'm doing well.
Salary: £25k (Financial Services - Admin)
LISA: £5k
S&S ISA: £1k (FTSE Global All Cap)
Savings: £7k (£5k with Barclays at 5% interest, £1k in premium bonds, £1k with Chase at 3.1% interest)
Pension: £3k (3.5% personal contribution, 9% employer contribution)
I used to invest £100 a month but have upped this to £150. I aim to save between £700-800 a month for a house deposit (I have a partner so not looking to buy alone). I live at home and pay around £300-350 in rent.

Hi, I have everything set up in Home Assistant and Uptime Kuma, but when I go to add it as a card the only option/ entity for Uptime Kuma is status, when I add it it just says up-to-date not the dashboard. What am I doing wrong?

Hey folks. I'm looking for an amp recommendation and would appreciate your help.
I currently play a Fender Strat Am Pro ii and record direct into my computer at home. However I would like an amp for around the house where I don't have to open my laptop. I play indie-rock, blues, and some modern folk music, and don't currently have or use any pedals.
Preferably I would like a nice clean tone, but would like a little distortion and reverb. It probably will never be played live, so I don't need anything to compete with a nearby drummer etc.
I will be playing in a room with neighbours (somewhat) nearby so it would be good to have something that makes a Strat shine at lower volumes.
Fortunately I'm a bit older and not too restricted by money. I'd prefer to buy something good quality that I will have for a long time. In saying that, I'm unlikely to spend thousands on some kind of custom boutique amp.
So far I've been looking at Vox and Fender combos but I'm not really sure on specific models.
Any suggestions?

I need to replace my current treadmill- I’ve had to keep replacing the belt, repair the deck and the motor keeps stalling, I’ve had it for 3 years now- I’ve been told I use it too much and run too fast on- its a mid priced home treadmill (around QR 7,000).
I’ve been told I need a commercial treadmill, which is fine but they are quite pricey so I wonder where in Qatar would be the best place to buy one.
My dream treadmill would be the TechnoGym Skill Run, but the TechnoGym in DFC are selling them at around QR 70-85,000 (depending on the model).

I hope you are all well and Spring is around the corner for you as well. Over here, it seems a bit like Spring and November are fighting, with gray & rainy still having the upper hand. At least, days are notably longer now, which helps me to get things done a lot :-)

I haven’t read much lately, but I got 2 smallish books for Christmas, which I plan to start reading soon: “Legends & Lattes” a fantasy book which I vaguely remember also being recommended somewhere on Reddit and the non-fiction book “Thirteen Lessons that saved Thirteen Lives” about the Thai cave rescue. “The Keeper of Happy Endings” also sounds intriguing. Yes, the stamp I used for the Christmas card is by Tim Holtz. His channel was the first I discovered and liked when searching for tutorials, and I usually end up buying something after watching a new video, lol. So, I mostly use his products, which are also easier to find over here, whereas I struggle to find brands and products from other tutorials, e.g. one's Jennifer McGuire uses often.

The one that is covered in stamps also has some cancellation marks that say “cancelled” in German (“entwertet”). I’ve never seen this before and wouldn’t have expected German Post to care, especially since I often receive envelopes with stamps that aren’t cancelled (or only partially).

I learned driving with stick, so I don’t know if I could drive automatic (and I also know stories about people driving into random things, because they weren’t used to automatic). However, last time I drove a car myself is so long ago, I’d probably need to start learning all new anyway (too many buttons and electronics in cars nowadays, lol).

Dog sledding sounds so much fun. I think there was a yearly dog sledding competition near my hometown, but I don’t know if they are still able to do it, since there hasn’t been much snow.
Congrats on the foot-rest pillow! That’s something I wouldn’t want to miss since I started using one. At home, I use a meditation cushion that turned out to be too big for me to use for meditation. (Or I sit on it when I need to spread out stuff like stickers all over the floor in order to sort it, lol).

Hi everyone. I’m very new to this so please guide me in the right direction if this post shouldn’t be placed here.
So, I think I’m ready to stop using opiates and kick the habit of daily use. It’s been going on for almost 3 months and I use roughly about max 10x 30mg pellets of ODSMT (which is about maximum of 300mg everyday). Last week I had a car accident and made me realize that I don’t want to waste my time on this sh!t anymore.
I am a 26 year old female. I am lucky because I am able to afford the addiction, but unlucky that I fell for the great high of opiates where I had to count the pills to make sure to get without withdrawals through the week. I know it will get crappy but I want to get my life back before it gets out of hand.
Because of the accident I am at home from work and thought it would be the best moment to quit, so I don’t have to worry about going to work while feeling sick.
I never been through any withdrawals so help would be very welcome. I have Diazepam, Lorazepam, oxazepam and quertapine to help making the withdrawals easier. Sidenote: I never liked benzo’s so I am not scared to trade the opiates for benzo’s. Opiates gave me so much energy and euphoria and I know find more healthier ways to be more energetic and overall happy feeling.
What can I expect? Should I taper down first or just stop cold turkey? Should I only take benzo’s to sleep? How long will the physical discomfort last?

Does it connect directly to the Amazon server or does it need to go through my router first?
I mean does it use my home Wi-Fi at all or does it use Amazon Wi-Fi entirely?
Reason I'm asking is that my home Wi-Fi isn't that good. It's why I connect my computer by an ethernet cable. So I was hoping I wouldn't need to connect it to my home Wi-Fi.
From what I understand the Google stadia controller completely bypassed the home Wi-Fi and connected directly to Google server so I was wondering if it's the same for the Amazon Luna controller. (Amazon Kindle also does the same if I'm not mistaken.)

Ok let me give you some context im a 23 year old male who has a cousin who is my same age and we had been best freinds for 12 years. So it all started right after my brother died. I was lonely and in need of company so i went on Tinder and i got a match!. She was the most wonderful looking woman i had ever seen but i was one of many to get a match with her. I'm gonna call her Hannah. So Hannah liked video games and so did I so we played a lot of adventure games. But we got bored and dicided to meet up and i said sure. But she asked to invite one of her friends and i was ok with that and we all went out to dinner and we were having a good time until her friend showed up. But it wasn't just any friend it was my cousin and i yelled my cousin saying what the f___ are you doing here and Hannah explained that she had met him on tinder to. once she said that my face was as red as magma but not because of anger but because everyone was staring at me for what i said i felt like they were judging me. So after dinner i went home and went to sleep. Then next thing i knew me and Hannah were dating and we were getting along preatty well. Or so i thought one time i came home and i was going to propose but what i saw shocked me.

I saw Hannah and my cousin kissing eachother in the kitchen and i threw the ring down the garbage disposel. But weeks later she comes to my front door and says she's sorry. But i opened the door gave her the bird and shoved the door in her face. Now Tell me am I the jerk?

I (21F) was recently let go due to medical problems, but I worked as a CNA at a nursing home as my first full-time job, and it ruined all the hope I had for myself and my future. As a CNA, we are taught how to handle behaviors and what to do during emergency scenarios, but it doesn't help when management doesn't comply with these actions.
We get residents we can't handle in our nursing home and are supposed to have them sent to a special behavior facility, but the nursing home doesn't get paid so they will basically ignore our opinions on the fact that "we our not the RN" (NOTE: There are only a few RNs that work there and they spend >1% of their time with the residents) and should follow the care plan. The care plans are never updated accordingly, and that is if we have a care plan. The state inspectors have given citations because of the care plans.
We receive constant harassment from management, are constantly understaffed, have too high of a resident staff ratio, have had a lack of essential supplies many times, and are generally treated like shit.

Tbh I know the answer but I'd like to know if it's sustainable at least until I lose a bunch of weight and get down to a size I'm happy with.
So I have ADHD and it's been making my life hell particularly in the last 3 years since I went to university. I never have the motivation or energy for anything until now. I recently got a band together after being a solo artist for a while and this is the happiest I've been in a long, long, loooong time. For the first time in years and all of a sudden I feel motivated. I'm just giving a brief explanation for context as to why I'm choosing to do it like this.
I'm 26f, 5'7 and currently about 160lbs.
Actually being productive but also having no money whilst I'm at uni meant that I accidentally wasn't eating. And as of Monday I started intermittent fasting 8pm-12pm. In terms of calories, I'm averaging between 500-900 per day and I'm exercising as much as I can. I have a small treadmill at home so the days I'm not at uni (I study in a different city so it's a long commute and very tiring), I walk on the treadmill for as long as I can, as fast as I can on an incline. Then I also do a dance workout at least twice a day because it's something I enjoy. So nothing too intense is what I'm saying. Sometimes I'll add weights or use a hula hoop but very light exercise. I've also cut sugar as much as I can and I'm doing my best to eat as healthy as possible but I'm completely out of money so I'm just having whatever we have left over in the freezer and cupboards (which isn't a lot ngl).
All this to say, after a week of consistency I had an awful night. I went to bed early because I felt pretty exhausted and hungry but I couldn't really sleep. When I woke up feeling off and my arms and hands felt completely numb. My partner said it's hyperglycaemia but I'm not too sure. I guess it makes sense but I don't want to change the new habits I'm building up.
I'm desperate to lose weight. I've been unhappy for a while. I've always had body image issues and I can't believe I used to think I was fat when I was 120-130lbs. I hate myself for it. This is the first time in my life I've ever stuck to any form of weight loss plan and I don't want to ruin it, even if it's unhealthy.
I've gone from 160 to 157 to 158lbs this week, which is so frustrating. But apparently that's the process and I need to trust it 🙃 I haven't broken once. Early in the week I bought a chocolate bar from the vending machine at uni cause I'd had no food all day and there was nothing else I could get. I had one bite and the rest is still in my drawer at home. I have no desire to eat it. Chocolate has been a huge one for me my whole life. I LOVE it. I have a big sweet tooth and my habits have worsened over the years - I was having so many fizzy drinks a week, tons of sugary snacks and consistent takeout. I'm happy I'm not doing that anymore but I may or may not have gone too extreme the other way?
I'll be performing with my band at gigs very, very soon and right now I can't stand the sight of myself on camera. I don't want to feel self-conscious of my body on top of all the other nerves and anxiety of performing live.
Sorry for rambling, I hope this all makes sense. Any advice is appreciated. I don't want to stop doing what I'm doing ngl
