So, I'd like to preface this by saying that I do think this show is quality, and knowing people who loved the second season, I think it's a completely valid take on the show. This is more going to be a rant/vent about how I personally felt about the show, mostly about the second season specifically.
So, my girlfriend recommended me TWL after we watched Beef together and I recommended her Succession. I watch the first season and, honestly, I found it pretty fucking cool. It's not my favorite show ever, but some moments were legitimally hilarious and I found most of the character beats interesting, even the characters I disliked were interesting to talk about. Also, great performances by the cast all-around.
Here's what I need to vent about tho: I couldn't stand the second season. GF had her suspicions about me not liking it when she recommended it to me, saying that Portia speficially was the kind of character I usually can't stand, and honestly, that was kind of underselling it. Portia ended up being a non-issue. Her character was actually something I was completely fine with through the show, and at least her plot line was interesting to me.
My main issue came from the change of focus. It's no secret that the show went from wealth/socio-economical commentary towards more focus on sex and relationship dynamics in the season season. Now, it's not like the first season didn't have a decent amount of those in it, but the second season is practially *just* that. Even the social commentary, which you'd think would be pretty hard to miss considering the setting and characters in place, takes a major step back and instead the whole season I felt like I was watching a soap-opera or a discount, comedic version of Eyes Wide Shut.
While the first season had multiple chaarcters serve as 'straight man' in different moments, that would balance the tone of the show with it's satire of rich people (characters like the family's son, Armond before having his breakdown, Belinda, Kai, even Rachel at times), I felt like those characters were practically non-existant in season 2. Pretty much every character from Sicily was such a caricature that I had a hard time taking pretty much anything seriously. Albie is such a shallow nice-guy stereotype, Cameron is such a shallow douche stereotype, the two italian girls we meet are literally, again, shallow prostitute stereotypes, Mia even wants to be a singer for fuck's sake! It's like they are all just character templates.
And then the drama, it felt so artificial to me. Like, infidelity is a fascinating subject, sexuality is a fascinating subject, love and how it can go stale are fascinating subjects, but this season in my opinion dealt with it in a way that came off more as an edgy attempt at commentary full of fanservice with beautiful actors and actresses rather than any actual insights. It felt so artificial that at times it gave me the feeling I was watching something like porn. I mean, ''the douche character wants to bang his shy-bad-husband's girl, she gets mad at him for a misunderstanding about a condom being left on the couch and even more misunderstanding ensue!", really? A condom wrap? Maybe she could have found lipstick on his shirt lapel to add flavor as well?
I think that's my problem with this. It's such a caricature of infidelity and sexuality and sicily and rich people and yet, this time, unlike the first season, I didn't feel like there was any character playing the role of hammering that point home, of making it worth my time. First season had fascinating arcs between Armond's complete descent into madness or Quinn's journey to learn about himself, or even Rachel's dilema or the father's arc... this season just didn't have anything grab my attention like that. Valentina's arc could have been interesting, but it took more than half the season for it to make even the slighest progress instead of just ''she's in the reception, angry at her staff speaking with her crush''.
Just had to get this into text because I can't be bothered to go on a rant like this irl with the people I know who are actually fans and this was a way to organize my thoughts on it. Again, my opinion in this is far from absolute, and I still think the quality of the show's production and performances is undeniable.

Hello! I've been using Scrivener for at least a decade and have never figured out what's going on here; I figure there's something I'm missing and hopefully one of you lovely people knows the answer. :) I am using 3.3.1 on a Mac, but this also happened to me when using 2.
Essentially: While I know how to right-click a word and Ignore/Learn Spelling as appropriate, this option doesn't always show up in the right-click menu on flagged words in my Scrivener projects, and sometimes it re-flags words I've previously told it to learn the spelling of. This happens sometimes within the same document, in the exact same format, and sometimes within the same sentence. One word will allow me to use Learn Spelling on it just fine and then the next one won't even give me the option. This doesn't happen in any other app that I write in (I've tested it so far in TextEdit, Word/OneNote, OpenOffice, and Firefox) so I don't think it has to do with my system settings, but as far as I know Scrivener works with the Mac spellcheck function, so... what's going on here?
I know I can disable spellcheck entirely but I'd really rather not since it is useful. It's just annoying to only be able to flag certain names as correctly spelled when I write a lot of fantasy with goofy made-up words. Thanks in advance!

Por um motivo qualquer, que ainda nĂŁo compreendi, no dia 28 de Jan. sem pensar certamente, apaguei no meu computador uma pasta que estĂĄ sincronizada com o meu Google Drive. SĂł desconfiei que qualquer coisa nĂŁo estava bem 6 dias depois quando olhei para o telefone e o menu starred do drive estava... Vazio?!

NĂŁo dei importĂąncia ao assunto, continuei com o dia de trabalho. Segui para a escola, supermercado, finanças e o menu vazio do meu telefone jĂĄ era uma coisa do passado. SĂł no dia seguinte perto do final de tarde o menu vazio voltou a memĂłria, somente porque preciso com alguma urgĂȘncia de um documento que nĂŁo encontrava em lado nenhum. Keyboard: The keyboard has TTC Speed Silver V2 switches with a key travel of 3.4mm and a release weight of 45g. and is said to have a durability of 100 million keystrokes. The switches are not soldered, but only plugged in and can be exchanged for many other switches available on the market. The keycaps are made of PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) and are black on the top and slightly gray transparent on the sides. You can also program a macro for each key (really for each key). For example, you can place a left click on the space bar mouse. All other functions such as setting the RGB lighting and RGB color can also be set with the keyboard itself. Here it would be desirable if you could configure the 1.47" display yourself, e.g. to display more system information via HW info or the track currently being played from Spotify. So I find the display beautiful but pointless. It would also be great if you could customize the colors of the keys to your liking. Unfortunately, you can't select 16.8 million colors as promised. They also seem annoyed then laugh as if they are laughing at the idea that they would join his crew. Soon after luffy says his dream. What if this moment made luffy come up with his dream and thatâs why those two reacted in that way.
- Read the reactions after luffy says his dream. They all line up with how each straw hat has reacted when he has asked others to join his crew. Also they all say itâs impossible and he says he has to be king of the pirates for it to happen which makes sense becauseâŠ

Location of the Red light ( Game Froze )

Before we even started dating, my (now ex) boyfriend was sending nudes of himself to 2 men in exchange for money. He works in an industry (acting) that is very male dominated, mostly by gay men and was in a bad financial spot due to lack of jobs, which happened during the pandemic. His previous manager signed him when he was around 19. Im not sure if he was maybe blackmailed, groomed or manipulated into doing this to be put up for jobs/money. Iâm not saying this to give my him the benefit of the doubt, but his old manager really is a bit psycho and creepy from what I have seen/heard from others as well, since heâs well known in the industry. When we started dating, he stopped talking and seeing his manager about 4 months into our relationship. This ultimately did not help his career. The whole time he was also talking to another guy (he never met in person) and doing the same in exchange for money. He eventually met him in person because this new guy was going to be his new manager. Is this considered cheating? If he maybe told me what he was doing, it might be different? Or at least ask if Im ok with him doing this for the sake of his career. When I initially had a weird feeling about it he denied it and would get defensive. I really felt like I was crazy for thinking heâd do that. He was always open about talking to them, but I didnât know he was sending them explicit pictures or going along with their flirting. When I went through his phone and found out, he was very apologetic and stopped. He knew it was wrong, but he said it was not cheating because his intentions were work related. Im not sure what to think. Iâm really not sure if when he first made his break into the acting world if his old manager made him do this and he felt like this was the only or best way to advance due to past experience. I feel like I canât tell anyone, so I need advice. I know that if this was a girl he was doing this with it would be cheating, even if it was solely for money or jobs. But since he is not interested in men and was doing this to get jobs/advance in his career, I donât know how to feel. He also lied to one of the guys about having a girlfriend (he told him that we broke up, which at the time we were very much together).

Sometime ago, my wife (Q) tried the THC/CBD gummies on a whim with a local mom/friend, a person you wouldn't even think would bother. Passing no judgement on such substances, I think they are fine for the right person and personality. However, since that time about a year ago, my wife has sought constant usage of them, to the point she's gotten the medical card in our resident state. Since she has no right to drive for another (7) months (DUI), she's been asking me to 1) drive her 2) buy them on her behalf.
The intention of having her go through the medicinal route was a few thoughts/ideas:
1) Because it would be used for the intended purpose and not abused. Under a prescriber (DR), she'd at least be monitored and perhaps the dosage would be managed.
2) Cost. When I did buy them (and had tried them), they'd be about $60/order, which she'd go through in two weeks or less, generally using them nightly. I assumed if she had a card she'd have a doctor monitoring her AND it may cost less, because I wasn't OK with the on-going cost
3) Commitment. Her tendency is to be highly addictive. Supplements, particularly weight loss, during her high school days. As a 39 year old mother, she buys all kinds of supplements for "health," most of which appear to be junk. It's nothing for her to jump on the next fad of supplements.
Overall, my wife (Q) like many of you, has a strong tendency to lie, deceive, hide, or deflect away from core issues. When I did buy the gummies, she'd take her "dosage" and basically chill and check out on me, avoiding any issues she raised during the day. I'd spoken to her consumption with my counselor (MLADC, MLMHC) I took the approach/stance of "it isn't my circus." Her new addiction isn't my business. Indirectly, my counselor did advise what she would do if my wife was her patient, and to some extent I agreed.
My counselor's opinion is that she's still medicating her issues away, rather than confronting them, and for the sake of safety and health, these shouldn't be used, nor prescribed. The other issues I have (and my counselor) have is that taking gummies at night does nothing during the day when my wife's issues are at their hardest. We have an 8 and 2 year old and she often makes things "worse in her head, than they are in reality." Really, they're two great boys and the 8 year old is gone from 8am to 4pm with school. My wife is a SAHM and the 2 year old, while rambunctious, naps 2-3 hours/day.
My wife is a perfectionist with anxiety; at times no one would know, least of all the people she aims to be perfect for and please. Desserts at the bus stop when it's a neighbor child's birthday. Texts everyday to family members. Weekly calls to her living grandparents. Cards for every single birthday, holiday, celebration, or sad event in our life. Cleans the house. Prepares the meals. Donates money to charity on a whim. She's a Stepford wife for sure, but she has also nearly killed herself or other's in two horrible DUI accidents the past 8 years when she snaps out of nowhere, not to mention the 10's of thousands of dollars in medical bills paid out over the past 8 years for her care, treatment and rehabilitation.
I'd also say she's a bit of a downer. She tells herself and other's she's happy, but between our four walls, we see the real her, who at times is so down, so depressed, so anxious, she lashes out at us. Even if me and the boys are fine, all it takes is a thought, something on social media or a text, to set her off and she'll be consumed by it for days, so much so that in the past that would lead her to binge drink to oblivion.
I've trailed off from the gummies, but ultimately as the only driver capable it's 1) drive her to the dispensary 2) have her uber there and back (which isn't practical) 3) me pick them up. Part of me has the "I don't care attitude" because things are 100x better than they were in 16, 17, 18, 19 and so on. And part of me is tired of "relapsing" in the sense of her chaos and drama. Plenty of times we've been places and she just...fades, likely the result of taking something.
I'm not opposed to this stuff, assuming it's under guidance to get better, not simply divert the addiction from thing to another. Again, it isn't for me to say what someone can or cannot do, but I also have our children to think of and it's my life (and our income). As it is, I do much more than I can this year and will this year. Thanks for reading.

2023.06.01 20:24 devilreject2012 RG35xx Garlic - Controllers Show up In Retroarch for Remapping but not Game Cores
I have been scouring reddit for threads, reading what I can to not have to make a redundant post but I'm not finding anything and it's driving me mad. I recently got a RG35xx and just finished the Garlic OS install. Everything is finally up and running great after reading through many many reddit posts. The issue I am having is controller support. I purchased 2, 2.4 GHz Wireless USB SNES Controllers (Saffun Retro SNES PC Controller) which worked right out of the gate on the Stock OS using an OTG Cable and hub. But when I finished my Garlic OS install and moved over to that I could't get the controllers to work for the life of me. After many, many attempts and tutorials I finally somehow got it to where I could see the controllers in the Retroarch Main menu and remap everything. But when I switch to a core (Namely the SNES one) the controllers do not show up at all only Retropad and Retropad with Analog show up. I have no clue what to do and i'm lost. I'm not super familiar with this and haven't really done any retro stuff or hacks or what not since the PSP memory card hack 10+ years ago lol. Any help or posts that I could be directed to that could help would be greatly appreciated!

28 F , 5 ft 3.75 in
Longest fast: ~72h (gallbladder surgery)
Plateau: 155-160lb for ~9 mo - since Sept 2022? When I reached size medium
Current eating window: ~1pm - 8pm
After a while, I learned how to listen to my body better about what I want to eat, and how much. Once I got to that point, I started allowing my eating window to be more flexible. Now I try to stop eating at 9 at the latest, occasionally it might go past on the weekend or if we're doing something social. For my first meal (lunch), I try to push it back as far as I can (3pm), but probably averages out to 1pm
EXERCISE: Definitely not helping my case, but very low. We used to play tennis and go to the gym but we come home after work and just don't want to do anything because then the day feels over by the time we get home. During work, every day, I get in a solid 30m walk every day. Also, I unfortunately work at a desk job. Weekends we like to take a walk sometimes
LUNCH: We have a chef at work, so when I eat lunch, I try to aim for (in my mind) "half of a lunch". They have a huge variety and different menu every day, and I usually try to get a variety on a mini plate. Grilled chicken, salad, wraps, soup, turkey meatloaf, pasta, chicken tenders, rice, sausage, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm eating 200 more than I expect. They also have fruit and stuff so I have a banana multiple times a week, and maybe an apple w/ pb+honey for my lunch
I probably have meat and carbs every day, and a healthy amount of broccoli every other day (praise our new air fryer). Salad not that much, but we do LOVE caesar salad (usually from a restaurant, not at home) which I know isn't very healthy
DINNER: At home, neither of us want to spend a long time cooking, like at all. Usually for dinner we'd have leftovers from eating out, or something frozen - frozen breaded fish (like costco's everything breaded cod), costco's seasoned salmon, tyson chicken, pfchangs beef and broccoli, bertolli chicken farfalle, etc. Sides could be broccoli, rice, or apple sauce. Sometimes a glass of skim milk with dinner, but usually water. Sometimes a banana after dinner
DESSERT: I'm a huge chocolate addict. Usually I'll have a handful of hersehey kisses (5-8). Occasionally a small glass of sweet red wine, I also recently re-discovered chocolate covered strawberries so I made my own with very light chocolate drizzle
WEEKENDS: We like to eat 1 main meal on Sat and Sun (~2pm), and it's not skimpy. We like to eat out (pizza, burgers, etc). Also I usually get a latte on the weekend from the local coffee shop with skim & no whip (~300cal?)
I know that if I'm not losing weight, then that almost always means I'm still eating too much. I already feel like I'm eating 1.5 meals / day with dessert and that feels bad (I'll blame America). Since this plateau has been so long, I'm starting to think that maybe there are other significant factors
I have many questions:

Usually for dinner we'd have leftovers from eating out, or something frozen - frozen breaded fish (like costco's everything breaded cod), costco's seasoned salmon, tyson chicken, pfchangs beef and broccoli, bertolli chicken farfalle, etc. Sides could be broccoli, rice, or apple sauce. DESSERT: I'm a huge chocolate addict. Usually I'll have a handful of hersehey kisses (5-8). Occasionally a small glass of sweet red wine, I also recently re-discovered chocolate covered strawberries so I made my own with very light chocolate drizzle
WEEKENDS: We like to eat 1 main meal on Sat and Sun (~2pm), and it's not skimpy. We like to eat out (pizza, burgers, etc). Also I usually get a latte on the weekend from the local coffee shop with skim & no whip (~300cal?)
STEPS TO GET OVER PLATEAU SAFELY
I looked around other threads, since this is apparently super common. I came to the conclusion that most people got over their plateau by doing a 48 to/or 72 fastI know that if I'm not losing weight, then that almost always means I'm still eating too much. I already feel like I'm eating 1.5 meals / day with dessert and that feels bad (I'll blame America). Since this plateau has been so long, I'm starting to think that maybe there are other significant factors
I have many questions:
- Should I go back to 20:4? (4pm - 8pm) or will that not kickstart it?
- Should I just do 1x 48h fast and that will kick my weight loss in? Or do I need to do longer?
- Do I need to work up to it? (like do a 24h?) or get right into it?
- How can I safely prep, in detail?
- Should I be having tea, in addition to black coffee , water, and water with salt? Anything else? Anything for nutrients besides a vitamin D pill?
- After an extended fast to get over the plateau, then what? Should I be slightly stricter than before? (so like 3pm - 8pm)
- If I do an extended fast, does it matter what day I exercise (tennis or weights)? i.e. before, after, same day
- If I do this, would I only do it once a week? What about the rest - like 19:5?
- Where can I find a dumbed down explanation of the benefits of 24h fasting, 48, 72, etc?
- Is my very low exercise that's the #1 issue? i.e. should I start playing tennis every week Tu and Thurs? Obviously I know it'll help, but I'm not sure how much of this is the issue
I understand that anything past 72h requires doctor supervision, but what are the benefits exactly, and what is the reason that fasting for 2-3 days is safe? A lot of the time when I mention fasting for a "long time" (anything 24h+), I feel like the immediate reaction from other people is that it seems unsafe. Probably common, and most people aren't educated, but I have never been able to answer actually how it is safe in detail
For example: "not eating for 2-3 days straight with only water is what some hikers do when lost, and then they go to the hospital after being rescued". What is the explanation for this? Probably missing some crucial details?

My (F21) (ex)boyfriend (M21) and I have had 2 arguments in the last 2 weeks which caused us to break up. I know my boyfriend, and he tends to overreact to things that I do outside our relationship. To counter this, I would tell him white lies to calm him down. Comment if you want examples.
I told him my cousin and I were going to the movies, but did not name the movie. I wanted to see if he would immediately be upset or be normal. He was upset, and said, it better not be GOTG 3. I lied and said we would see John Wick. Immediately he was upset that I was not going with him to see that movie, and he said he would have rather me watch GOTG 3 with my cousin instead, but then he changed his mind and said I should not watch either movie without him. I couldnât go with both him and my cousin, as they hate each other. To keep him happy, I told him my cousin and I would watch the Mario movie instead, which my bf and I have already seen. He then asked me to take a picture of the screen when I got to the theater. We went back and forth until we stopped arguing.
Later that night, we had a sushi dinner date. It was awkward and not nice, as he was nit-picking the things I was doing. We get back to the car and he asks me to see the texts where I ask my cousin to switch movies. He thinks my cousin and I made fun of him during the convo. But there was no convo, as my cousin and I were still going to see GOTG 3. So I said no until I got tired of his scary persistence, said there is no convo bc I never asked my cousin. He went ballistic and started yelling at me while I stayed silent. He said we are done and to go get his stuff. I did but when I went outside, he and his car were gone.
We were radio silent until a week later when we wanted to talk about if the relationship was done or not. We went back and forth and agreed on a tentative break but still be able to see each other and go on dates.
Fast forward, we said to go to the movies this weekend to see spider man. I asked him which weekend days he prefers, as I wanted to see it with him first before my cousin. BF immediately got upset that I was even thinking about seeing it with my cousin. I try to talk to BF and show him that he doesnât have a reason to be upset. He still argues. [SFX: The communicator being crushed]

[With that, she turns and floats back towards the tank. You and Nivek side-eye each other, fully aware that youâre both being dogwalked by a child]

[N] âNo, I donât think Iâll recover from this either⊠but itâs our best bet. If anyone will know how to kill an Ascendant Vampire⊠itâd be her.â
[Pause]
[Cy climbs in the âtankâ, stops, and looks back at the two of you]
[C] âGet in, losers, weâre going shopping.â
[Nivek exchanges a glance with you and you with him. At least you get to ride in a tank]
[SFX: The tank hatch slamming shut and the beast in question lumbers off on its merry way]
