There are those out there who hold out hope on your behalf, telling me not to give up on love and that "Mr. Right is just right around the corner". They will waste no time giving me fashion, beauty, health, and sex tips trying to turn the many villains out there into my hero in order to keep your legend alive. While I appreciate their efforts, they have yet to understand that telling me to keep chasing you is like seeing a rainbow during a rainstorm and believing that there's a pot o' gold at the end. Well, you don't see me getting into my car, driving towards this rainbow, and actually expecting to see it, do you? No. I've seen many rainbows (even multiples) with no pot o' gold at the end. Just goes to show.
While I'm not discouraging anyone from chasing after you, believing in you, and eventually finding you, I have chosen to confront you and see through you to understand that you don't exist. You're not real. And you know what? It's okay. I liken this to finally outgrowing those fairy tales that suited me well in childhood, but I'm grown up enough to know that's not real. Neither is Santa. Neither is the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny. But that's what life is about. Living and learning.

Hi. Its my first time making a reddit post, so forgive me if I'm doing it wrong.
I'm 6'4". I've owned cars my whole life. I'm now at a point in my life I want to experience more "leg space". I've been hearing trucks have more than cars. I've gone to dealerships and sat in a Nissan Titan and a Chevy Silverado. I like how I can actually put my legs under the steering wheel and not have them around it.
Are these good trucks? What should I look out for when it's time to buy? Should I wait until a specific time of year? Is it better to buy new or used?

Ive had my 12v die and need a boost in the past, especially during covid it happened twice due to not using the car for several weeks at a time, so I know the sudden 12v death behaviour, can't turn the car off...every system gradually shows an error until the car finally dies and a boost fixed it
However, this time was different and only obvious to the 12v recently
A couple months ago, it seemed my FOB was only detectable sometimes, had to click it a bunch to get it seen by the car, I figured the batteries i put in it which were from the dollar store just werent great quality so I didn't think much of it as it would work after a few clicks.
Then I got a check engine light, the app said it was the emissions system, the code turned out to be the EGR valve, they wanted me to pay 2 grand to fix it, I told them I'd pass as it seemed to only have a moderate affect on gas milage
Then last Friday, Electric drive unit alert on the app. Was my car dying?! less than 1000km after the warranty?! that would really piss me off.
No, what happened was my car would turn on, changing the gear would state "shift to park" and no battery value appeared on the HUD. But after 5 min of this if I stopped and started it again, it would be normal, then the ac would start to work and so on. Like the systems were gradually getting powered back on.
Too many things piling up at this point, so I got a 12v tester, it showed the 12v was about 20% degraded. Thank goodness, $250 fix instead of many thousands
I replaced the 12v battery, my fob has massive range again, after running the car a couple separate times today the EGR valve alert cleared, the Electric drive unit cleared, the app now shows all systems functioning perfectly, check engine light has now gone away.
So I'm kinda pissed at the Chevy dealership for trying to sell me a repair I didn't need, you'd think in all EV issues they'd check the 12v by now as it always seems to come back to that.
Anyways, point being, always check the 12v no matter what it seems to be, but perhaps the fob acting weird even with new fob batteries is a good early indicator of 12v failure?

I recently bought a 2008 chevy Silverado and was wondering what wiring harness I need to install a double den without cutting the factory harness. I would like to keep original door chimed and if possible keep steering wheel controls. Can anyone link a harness that will work?

I also have a line out converter but not sure if ill need this. Im mainly concerned about everything being compatible and sounding good. My goal is to have clear sound with depth and nice bass. I still have stock speakers in the truck I'd like to keep those in there if possible. If I need to upgrade them I will. this is all going into a 2001 Chevy Silverado single cab.
Is this a good setup for my goal? if not what should I do different or add to the setup?

Hi all!
I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu 3.5L V6, recently after a long drive to Cali and back my car threw two codes out, which turned off for several days before coming on again.
The codes were P0171 and P0174, my engine was detected to be running too lean for Bank 1 and Bank 2.
I ordered a replacement Mass Air Flow sensor as online this seemed like the likely culprit. I am wondering if anyone else has gotten these codes and if that was their fix as well?
(I've checked for vacuum leaks and haven't found any yet. Haven't had time to inspect the MAF sensor or the air filter due to being busy and some of my tools being stolen. I cleaned the air filter before I left so I don't believe debris is causing the code.)

I have a brake controller installed and accidentally grounded the power wire under the dash and now there’s no power going to the controller… When I hit the brake in the truck it lights up so there still a connection there but the 12v wire doesn’t have power now. I couldn’t find a fuse that is for the brake controller. What should I do?

I am moving from western Colorado to Ohio (~1500 miles) and have several 5.5' tall cabinets/toolboxes I need to move.
Assuming the weight isn't exceeding my truck's capacity (they'll be mostly empty) and the load is securely strapped down, is it safe to do this with the cabinets upright in the bed of the truck?
5.5' over the bed seems really tall.
Of course gas mileage would suck but I'm mainly concerned about safety/handling given wind hitting such a large surface sticking over the cab. But then again that's pretty much what small box trucks are... Right?
